FINDING TIME ON A BUSY SCHEDULE

You’re busy. We get it. You have work, family, and all that comes with being a human in this day and age. But exercise? That’s another story! You’ve got to make time for it somehow, right? Well guess what? You don’t have to carve out more time than you already do. In fact, you can find ways to fit more fitness into your daily schedule by using some of these strategies.

Set goals.

A good way to get started on a busy schedule is to set goals. At Marble Strength, we sit down with all of our members and set goals. We write them down and give the best course of action to take to succeed.

Knowing what you want to achieve can make it simpler to digest and plan for. If you know you have to drive to a destination, you have to map out the route.

Prioritize.

In order to be successful with exercise, you need to prioritize it. We get it. There are only so many hours in the day. How do you get it all in?

Finding a group or Coach to handle the stress of what to do will clear up resources for you to just show up and be able to prioritize your health. Without the added stress of “what should I do today?” It allows you to take care of the things most important to you with more clarity. ie: Family, work & leisure.

Friends or join a group.

If you have a friend who is also trying to get fit, get together with them and go for a walk. If this isn’t possible, find someone else who shares your goals and join them for an activity. It’s important to keep in mind that having a support system will help keep you motivated through this journey.

If you don’t know anyone to join or want more than just one person in your life, Marble Strength is here for you!

Find an enjoyable activity.

If you want to be more active, find an activity that you enjoy. Don’t worry about what other people are doing or how long it takes you to get fit. Don’t worry about how far you have to go and don’t let other people’s opinions dictate your fitness routine. If running is something that sounds appealing but is too boring for your taste, try cycling or swimming instead! Any activity is a good activity as long as your consistent!

Go with the flow

Once you’ve established your routine, it can be hard to change things up. You’ve got a schedule and you’re sticking to it! But what happens when something unexpected comes up? It’s important not to let an interruption derail your entire day—or even your whole week.

When life interferes with your workout routine, remember that it’s okay to take a break. Don’t beat yourself up over skipping that workout session or getting stuck in traffic on the way home from the gym; instead see these as opportunities for self-care and allowing yourself some freedom from guilt around exercise.

It’s also okay to say no if something else comes along that you’d rather do instead of exercise—and it’s okay if someone else needs more of your attention than exercising does at any given time (no matter how much they ask). And don’t forget: If the opportunity cost of taking time away from an important task is too high (e.g., missing out on quality time with family), then maybe now isn’t really the best time for an intense workout session anyway!

Remember: You don’t have to be perfect; neither should anyone else!

If you can’t find time to exercise, take a step back and look at your schedule. Are there any areas where you can be more efficient with your time? Are there any habits that could be eliminated? If so, start small by eliminating one habit at a time until you have room for exercise. You’ll be surprised by how much easier it gets when you focus on prioritizing what matters most!
